All students have promise, but what does it take to engage our highest risk at-promise students? The relationships that teachers foster with at-risk youth have the power to positively impact the student’s feelings of connectedness to school. When at-risk students are provided with nurturing and caring relationships, those connections have a significant impact on their academic achievement and social-emotional development.
